Longarm Quilting

How does longarm quilting work?

As the name suggests, longarm quilting uses a longarm quilting machine. Throat spaces vary. The bigger the space, the bigger work space you have. Mine has 26". Some are as small as 9".

The top and back are loaded onto separate rollers at the top with the batting in the middle. Then the quilter sews the three layers together simultaneously.  Complete one row and roll it up til you get to the bottom of the quilt.

The machine head is moved by hand or computer sewing your design of choice across the quilt, allowing me to quilt while the fabric stays in place until I reach the end.
